Coyal Wayne Cooper III was born in Los Angeles, California to Coyal Cooper and Lorna Griggs on October 9, 1981. He departed this earthly life on May 1, 2020 in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Growing up in a military family, Coyal attended elementary school in both California and Kaiserslautern, Germany. He also attended Manor Middle School and Ellison High School in Killeen, Texas. From an incredibly early age Coyal always had a passion for music. As a young adult, he performed in a local Hip-Hop group known as the Snakepit. For the last twelve years he lived in Hobbs New Mexico where he worked and devoted much energy into being a devoted father, and son, and friend.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Zaylee and her mother Jasmin Ward; his mother and step-father, Lorna and Rodriguez Griggs; his father, Coyal Cooper II; maternal grandparents, Gail and Ian Bird; his brother, Jordan Griggs; his sister, McKenzie Willis; his nephew, Marcus Rodriguez; his niece, Sahdia Cooper; his best friend Jason Mohammed; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Jason Cooper, who he missed dearly; his paternal grandparents, Coyal Sr. and Alice Cooper; his maternal grandfather, Richard Hooks; his maternal great-grandparents, Walter and Ruby Jackson; and Bessie Ladd.
